A brief introduction to the cannabis plant...

Cannabis is a plant that has been used for centuries for both medical and recreational purposes.  It is a member of the Cannabaceae family, which also includes hops and hemp.  The cannabis plant has two main species: Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica.  Cannabis sativa is the type of cannabis that is most commonly known for being uplifting and energising,  while Cannabis indica is most commonly known for it's sedative and relaxing effects.

The cannabis plant contains over 400 different compounds, including over 100 cannabinoids and over 100 terpenes.

Cannabinoids are the chemicals in cannabis that interact with the body's endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a system of receptors and neurotransmitters that helps to regulate a variety of bodily functions, including pain, mood, and appetite.

Terpenes are responsible for the smell and taste of cannabis. They also interact with the body's endocannabinoid system, and they may have therapeutic effects.  Research on the effects of terpenes is still in its early stages, but there is some evidence that they may be helpful for treating a variety of conditions,
